Cosmetex23 Cosmetic Surgery Conference

Innovation and excellence is achieved when we bring the world’s best practitioners together in a contemporary, multidisciplinary educational forum. That’s why we’ve been successfully hosting Australasia’s premier conference in cosmetic medical practice since 1999 with our 2022 event fully subscribed 6 weeks prior.   So register early to avoid disappointment!

Cosmetex provides a unique forum for us to get together, share our experiences and learn from each other. As cosmetic medical and cosmetic surgical procedures are ever more in demand, the need to stay abreast of developments in the industry and stay ahead of the hype is intensified. Raising standards and protecting patients is the ethos of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery & Medicine and I’m sure you’ll be impressed when you see the range of topics to be covered in our program – there are gems waiting for you to take away.

Our hand-selected keynote speakers are trailblazers and torchbearers, renowned for their expertise and influence. They are thought leaders, innovators, and pioneers, who are passionate about the cosmetic industry and industry-changing technology and innovation and we are delighted to announce the first of our International  Keynote Speakers, Dr Fadi Hamadani a renowned Plastic Surgeon.

What delegates of Cosmetex 2022 are saying.

"Cosmetex 2022 was a breath of fresh air, the standard of presentations was overall much higher than we have become accustomed to with so many conferences, and the venue selection allowed for a more intimate function, no cast of thousands in which you lose yourself in a sea of young faces who seem to be there more for the glam and social media opportunities. Cosmetex 2023 is shaping up to be even better and is highly recommended for those who want to get up to speed with all the latest".

"As a Cosmetic Doctor and registrar with Australian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine, I had the pleasure and honour of attending Cosmetex 2022 in Sydney . Cosmetex is one unique event, it showed how practitioners are very well welcomed and supported in the field. Cosmetex provided us the rarer opportunities to meet and greet international and local  speakers and mentors. It is a very welcoming educational and social event for all practitioners. I strongly recommend Cosmetex for continuity of professional development and network building. Thank you for the great event".

"Cosmetex 2022 was a great opportunity for Medical and Surgical Fellows to re-visit and expand their knowledge in both fields to enhance their Cosmetic practices. Given the current medico political climate the ACCSM and its Fellows need to be at the forefront and leaders in the practice of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine. It is always a great venue to catch up with colleagues and friends  especially from interstate. I would highly recommend and endorse attendance at Cosmetex 2023".

"Fabulous conference with great content and collegiate spirit, without the hoopla".

Injector becomes conductor in the creation of harmonious facial orchestration
Injector becomes conductor in the creation of harmonious facial orchestration

In the early days of non-invasive aesthetics, injectable treatments focused almost entirely on the simple objective of minimising wrinkles. Filler rheology was underdeveloped, limiting progression to a sophisticated treatment repertoire.

An extraordinary evolution over the last 20 years has seen the development of scientifically advanced injectables to be utilised for enhancing youthful proportions, contours and skin quality.

Negative vectors and expression can be corrected and even a remarkable degree of facial elevation can be achieved.

The treatment paradigm of injector primarily correcting wrinkles is obsolete.  Injectables must now be delivered in an advanced treatment orchestration where anatomy and biology meet art in an aesthetically harmonic symphony.

Lip Lift

The Fundament of Tissue Regeneration
A special focus on dedicated growth factor and rejuvenative tissue induction.

Biological engineering advances have captured the imagination of the aesthetic practitioners over the last three decades.
Initially, clinicians were captivated by the phenomenal engineering capacity of commerical fillers and threads to "fill" and "lift" tissues.

However, researchers never really lost sight of the concurrent biological magic of tissue regeneration inherent in these procedures.

In essence, every intervention from commercial fillers, threads, fat grafting, platelet derived growth fators,
energy based devices, skin needling, etc. induce tissue regeneration.

Physics Meets Biology in Rejuvenative Fusion
Physics Meets Biology in Rejuvenative Fusion

In 1917, Einstein laid the foundation for laser physics when he introduced the
concept of stimulated emission.

Over 100 years later Aesthetic Practitioners have access to an extraordinary array of
energy based devices (EBD) to positively modify tissues.
Technology firms constantly innovate in an extremely competitive market.

The overarching biological challenge is to induce controlled tissue injury in order to initiate
rejuvenating tissue recovery without deleterious consequences.

To fulfil this imperative for safe energy delivery, EBD engineers have devised intricate parameters such as
chromophore appropriate wavelengths and frequency options while automating delicately balanced complexities
in calculating the required thermal energy output to deliver effective and safe patient outcomes.

Office bedside ultrasound is here to stay.
If nothing further, minimisation or treatment of vascular occlusion are sufficient
reasons to incorporate ultrasound into an aesthetic practice.

This session explores this and other pertinent ultrasound indications  including:
Identification of previous fillers and filler types
Visualisation and guided treatment of filler nodules

Liposuction

Cannulas - where to start and how to select the right cannuala
Patient selection - when is a skin excision warranted
Complications in liposuction - how to correct deformities
Current liposuction regulations

Silver Threads and Golden Needles
Silver Threads and Golden Needles

Thread insertion has captured the imagination of practitioners and patients alike.
This session explores many issues including:
How do they work?
How long do they last?
Are they safe?
Are they cost effective?
Are they compatible with other procedures?

Abdominoplasty

How to avoid seromas and the dual plane abdominoplasty.
Gynnacomastia: grades and skin resection.
Complications in Abdominoplasty and how to best manage them.
